The BCS Flail Mower is extremely versatile, able to mow anything that can be bent over. It’s height of cut is infinitely adjustable from 4 inches down to 1/2 inch. Because of its ability to reduce mowed materials to a small particle size, it promotes quick decomposition of the material mowed, making it well-suited for mowing cover crops and shredding.
The following accessories extend its versatility further:
Anti-Scalp Roller — This is a full-width roller that can be installed in place of the mower’s skids or casters. It lets you set the flails to the lowest cutting height of 1/2 inch without the potential problem of “scalping” the area you are mowing, even when mowing on soft soils. And because the roller is positioned closer to the BCS tractor than would be skids or caster wheels, rough terrain is easier to mow with this accessory installed.
Lawn Mowing “Scoop” Blades — While the original flail mower’s blades are excellent for non-lawn mowing applications (mowing cover crops in a garden area, shredding uneven fields or pastures, etc.) they do not leave the well-manicured look that is desired when used on lawns. These blades change that. It takes about one hour to replace your original blades with these Lawn Mowing “Scoop” blades. And when they are installed on your flail mower, you’ll be able to get a neat, even, well-manicured result.
